Learn With Peppa - Trends UK - Review & Giveaway

*Disclosure - We received these items for the purpose of the review however all thoughts and opinions are my own

Like most toddlers, Erin is crazy about Peppa Pig! Her love started from a young age and not a day goes by when she doesn't request to watch it or listen to the album (on repeat!!). At almost 7, Elliot would never admit it but I think he still quite likes it too!

You can imagine Erin's excitement then when we received a big box in the post which contained not one but two items from the Peppa Pig Electronic Early Range from Trends UK. This is a range we are already familiar with as we have the Peppa's Flip and Learn Phone and the Peppa's Laugh and Learn Laptop. Both toys are favourites of Erin's so I had a feeling she would love what we had been sent!

Peppa's Laugh and Learn Alphaphonics.

This fab educational gadget has 7 different games to help children with their phonics. Each letter features something easily recognisable for little ones, such as M for Monkey, P for Peppa etc.

The games are really easy to change, using a small lever and the Alphaphonics has two sturdy handles on each side which make it perfect for carrying around and using on the go.

Erin spent alot of time playing with this and it really is fantastic for helping with phonics. She has already started recognising some of the letters ("E is for Erin Mummy!") and I think it will be a really handy tool when she starts to learn more about phonics at pre-school.

The only thing I didn't like about the Alphaphonics was that there was no off button - a few times Peppa has randomly said "Hello, I'm Peppa!" and it has made us jump!

Peppa's Smart Tablet

One thing that causes squabbles in our household is who gets to play on the iPad. Peppa's Smart Tablet meant that the arguments subsided whilst Erin played on her "new iPad"!

Featuring the same bright and eye-catching colours and design as other Peppa merchandise, the tablet features lots of touchscreen buttons and an all important on/off button.

There are 6 games to choose from including Erin's favourite, the music roud where you have to match the sound to the instrument!

All the games encourage learning about colours, numbers, shapes, letters and characters. There's even a quiz - tap on Peppa and she will ask a question.

The tablet is aimed at 2+ and it's perfect for pre-schoolers. There's enough to keep them busy and the tablet is light enough to pop in your bag.

Overall, we were really pleased with these toys. Erin is a huge Peppa fan so I knew she'd like them anyway but I like that they are educational as well as fun. I also like the fact they both have volume buttons!

Weaning Time with Babease - Review and Giveaway

credit - Babease.co
I don't know how it happened but my squidgy little newborn baby turned into a gurgling, smiling 6 month old overnight! Well perhaps not overnight, but it certainly feels like it's gone that fast!

Erin has been showing lots of signs of being ready for weaning in the last couple of weeks - for instance I can't eat anything with her on my lap because she tries to make a grab for it!

I tried to remember what we did with Elliot in regards to weaning - he's a brilliant eater so I'm hopeful if we follow the same pattern, Erin will follow her big brother. With him we started off with a mixture of purees and abit of finger food and then went fully into baby led weaning. I know people have different ways and ideas of weaning, this worked for us so I'm going to be following the same route this time round too.

I'd love to say that I will be making all the purees from scratch but we all know that life is busy, and sometimes you need to pick up a ready made baby food pouch on the go. This is where Babease come in! They contacted me to see if Erin would like to test out their organic baby food and well...here we are now :)

Babease say that their food is for babies, not baby food and looking at the range of pouches available you'd definitely agree with this. Created by experts (including Mums!), the food focuses on vegetable based recipes and no fruit fillers. They promise:

- 100% Organic
- No added salt
- No added sugar
- Dairy-free
- Gluten-free
- Suitable for vegetarians

At Babease they understand how important it is for parents to know what goes into food so all ingredients are clearly listed alongside an informative ingredients wheel which shows an exact breakdown.

Credit - Babease.co
There are two stages of food to choose from - stage 1 is smoother and a perfect introduction to first flavours. Stage 2 has more texture and a wider range of ingredients to expand your baby's palate.

We started off with Sweet Potato & Pear with Coconut Water, Brown rice and Quinoa - what a fantastic combo. Erin made some pretty funny facial expressions but she was quite keen to get the food in her mouth! (But I'd forgotten how messy weaning is...!)

The lovely white Babease bib stayed clean for about 3 seconds!
This isn't milk!!?
I'm looking forward to testing out the other flavours over the next few days with Erin and I'm sure it won't be long before we can move into stage 2. I also plan on trying out some of the recipes on the Babease website - the savoury mini muffins sound perfect for lunchboxes!

The Babease pouches can be found in Tesco and Boots and here but if you'd like to get your hands on some for your little one to try, take a look at the Rafflecopter giveaway below...

Valentine's Bouquets from Prestige Flowers - Review & Giveaway

I love getting fresh flowers but sadly it doesn't happen too often! It was a real treat for me then when I was given the chance to review a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from Prestige Flower's luxury Valentine's range - lucky me!

Prestige Flowers are an online florist with a website packed full of beautiful flowers including bouquets for every occasion. They have been voted the number one online florist on ReviewCenter with many many glowing reviews to back this up!

You can order up to 9pm for the next day delivery but even better, you are even able to get same day delivery if you are in a real hurry. Perfect if you forget that special someone's birthday ;)

I was pleasantly surprised when I took a look at the website, there are some beautiful bouquets on there that won't break the bank. I've always thought that ordering from an online florist would be really expensive but actually it seems better value than visiting a local florist! Plus they deliver 7 days a week which is handy.

When my Prestige Flowers Valentines Flowers arrived they were well packaged in a large box, the delivery didn't need signing for either so the driver helpfully left them on my porch. What a lovely surprise to come home to!

He was itching to get inside this box!!
I was sent the Ti Amo bouquet (£44.99) which as the name suggests, was brimming with romance and passion. Featuring beautiful long stemmed red roses, hypericum berries in a bed of folded aspidistra leaves, this bouquet was certainly something special. The roses were a gorgeous deep dark red colour and the berries and leaves complimented them perfectly. I don't think I've ever had Valentine's roses before so this was a first for me! The flowers were secured in luxury black wrap and placed in a very nice black gift bag. Also included was a flower care guide booklet and mini box of truffles.

I was really impressed with the beautiful bouquet and wouldn't hesitate to use Prestige Flowers again.  If you fancy winning yourself a lovely bunch of flowers from Prestige, follow the Rafflecopter link below:

Drumond Park's Gross Magic - Review & Giveaway!

With Halloween just around the corner, Drumond Park have the perfect thing to whip out at your Halloween party to impress your friends! Gross Magic (RRP £19.99) is a fun set for children 8+ featuring over 40 tricks to thrill and gross out your audience. Featuring tricks containing yucky things like cockroaches and poo, this is bound to appeal to kids of all ages!

My husband is a big magic fan and it's a love he has passed onto Elliot. We've seen the legendary Penn and Teller in Vegas and Elliot recently took part in a magic show whilst we were on holiday in Majorca! We've had magic kits before but nothing quite as gross as this and the boys couldn't wait to test it out!

The magic kit was a little too old for Elliot as he is only 3 and the tricks take a bit of reading and practising but he enjoyed helping his Daddy out. The first trick they did involved bogies - there is a literally a whole section devoted to bogey tricks and this definitely appealed to their sense of humour!!

Some of the tricks do seem quite tricky to master so I would definitely recommend having an adult to help out but there are so many tricks to try out that I'm sure as your magic skills improve, you can work up to the harder ones!

The boys have spent lots of time perfecting their tricks and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

If you would like to win your very own Gross Magic, please see below for details on how to enter: a Rafflecopter giveaway

Drumond Park's Pickin' Chickens Game - Review & Giveaway!

Pickin' Chickens is a brand new game from Drumond Park, suitable for 2-4 players and children age 4+. It immediately appealed to Elliot - it's bright and he said it looked funny with the boys running away with the chickens!

The premise of the game is simple - you need to help Farmer Giles keep his chickens safe from the sneaky fox.

Set up was nice and straight forward and no batteries needed which is a big plus! You just pop the chicken coops onto the gaps on the round spinner (the pasture), make sure the fox is pushed down, place the chickens in a pile to the side and you are good to go. The game can be varied slightly for younger and older children but we went with the older kids version and although Elliot is only 3 (almost 4), he had no issues with this.

All players take a Chicken Card and the youngest person takes the first go. They'll need to give the pasture a good spin and then once it stops, everyone can choose a chicken coop. Once they have removed the coop it will reveal an image of a farmer or a chicken. If they get the farmer then that player will need to pick up the farmer card and place it next to their chicken card. Somebody may already have the farmer card so it can be taken from them.

If the coop reveals a chicken then that player must take a chicken from the pile, making sure they have the correct colour to match the image and then place this on their chicken card.

The game continues until the first person to collect all their chickens. Of course that would be nice and simple but what about the fox?! He's out to get the chickens so he will randomly pop up...this will make you jump!! If he jumps up then all players must lose one of their chickens.....unless they have the Farmer card in which case their chickens are safe. Once everyone has given up a chicken, Mr Fox is pushed back down and the Farmer card goes back in the middle all ready for the next spin.

This is a really fun game for children and we really enjoyed playing it. I love the anticipation of not knowing when the fox is going to jump up and it made us jump out of our skins everytime!

It's nice and simple to use and suitable for the whole family. Just beware of that fox ;)

Pickin' Chickens has a RRP of £19.99 - for more information and stockists, please visit www.DrumondPark.com.

Kidloland Educational App for Pre-Schoolers - Review and Giveaway

Elliot is a huge fan of the iPad and although we do restrict it so he's not using it all day long (because he totally would!), I'm happy for him to play on it when I'm cooking dinner or getting ready in the mornings. He really enjoys watching YouTube kids, especially the songs for children.

Recently we were contacted by Kidloland to see if we would like to review their educational app. I'd not heard of the brand before but when I took a look online I was really impressed with all the glowing reviews from parents! Needless to say, Elliot didn't need to be asked twice to test it out!

The Kidloland app features over 300 nursery rhymes and educational songs, plus over 220 games and activities. From the main menu there are various different options to click on such as phonics, ABCD songs, Old Macdonald songs, animal kingdom, fruit and vegetables and much more! There is even a lullaby section which might come in handy at bedtimes.

The app is literally bursting with videos to watch and games to play and I think a toddler would have a hard time getting bored of the app with so much to do. New content is constantly being added too which keeps things fresh. I like that the app is educational as well as fun and I think it's a really good way of getting pre-schoolers familiar with numbers/letters etc.

I love the fact that the characters and videos are all so bright and eye catching, but also that the videos are interactive. Click on anyone when the song is playing and that character will do something funny like do a little wave or hide under an umbrella!

Another great reason to love this app is that it can be used offline - which is a godsend on long car journeys or places without WiFi! You can even create a playlist of your favourite songs.

I would suggest going through the settings once you've installed the app and get all the content downloaded before you let your child loose on it as it can take a bit of time to download everything. The settings can only be accessed by a grown up completing a sum so that's very useful if your child is prone to hitting all the button and changing the settings!

Elliot really enjoyed using the app and it has already proved very useful in keeping him quiet on a 4 hour car journey we did recently. Normally I have to resort to downloading programmes from iPlayer for him to watch but he tends to get a bit bored of that in the car so it was good for him to have some more choices and be able to flick through the songs until he found a good one. (The dinosaur songs seem to be a current favourite!)

The app is available to download from the Apple App store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore . There is a free version but I would highly recommended upgrading to a subscription to access the full content. At £29.99 for a whole year, I think that this equals really good value for money and you would definitely get yours moneys worth!

If you would like to win a 3 month subscription to Kidloland, take a look at the giveaway below. I have 5 subscriptions to give away :)

Drumond Park's Barbecue Party Game - Review & Giveaway!

We are a big fan of family games and Elliot is at the right age now where he understands rules and has the patience to play them!

We were recently sent Drumond Park's Barbecue Party (RRP £19.99) and Elliot couldn't wait to start playing!

Barbecue Party is a fun game for kids and big kids aged 4+ and for 2-4 players. It is very simple to set up (great for little ones with not a lot of patience!) and you can be ready to go within seconds.

Prior to playing for the first time you will need to stick the eyes on the vegetables but this was easy peasy and Elliot helped me with this.

To start, you need to make sure the grill is on the barbecue and have all the cards face down on the table. The youngest person starts by picking a card - the cards contains pictures of various barbecue items and that person has to place the corresponding food item on the barbecue using the tongs. If the food item is already on the grill then they can take it off and keep it. The first person to collect three food items wins.

Sounds simple but as always there's a catch! Put too much pressure on the barbecue and it will spring off!

We really enjoyed this game, it was fun to play and kept Elliot's attention the whole time we were playing. He loved the anticipation of whether he'd make the grill spring off and it reminded me of games from my childhood such as Pop up Pirate and Buckaroo!

The game doesn't need batteries so this is a big bonus, and it's so quick to set up - it also packs away really quickly so it's ideal for taking to the Grandparent's house! The pieces are sturdy and the whole game is well made.

It was a big hit here and I'm sure it'll be a game Elliot comes back to again and again.

If you fancy winning yourself your very own Barbecue Party, please see below

Drumond Park's Og on the Bog Review & Giveaway

I don't know about your children, but Elliot loves toilet humour. He finds anything to do with bums and farting hilarious and if you tell him a poo joke you're his friend for life!

When we got offered a chance to try out Og on the Bog by Drumond Park I had a sneaking suspicion that it would be a hit in this household.....!

What Is It?!

Og on the Bog is a game for 2-4 players and for children 5+ however Elliot is only 3 and enjoyed it too so I wouldn't let the age recommendation put you off.

The aim of the game is to steal 3 loo rolls from Og (based on 4 players, 2 and 3 players must collect 4) but you have to be careful as Og will hear you and you need to do it without him noticing!

The game is really easy to set up and the instructions are easy to follow, a definite plus point when playing with younger children who don't have a lot of patience ;) You will need 3 AA batteries and a screwdriver to open the battery compartment though.

How Do I Play?

Excuse the lunch debris scattered around!!

Each player starts with one loo roll. The first player spins the spinner and there are 3 outcomes:

- The red cross means you have made a noise and it is not safe to try and steal a loo roll. Therefore your turn is over and the next player spins
- The hand holding the loo roll means you can steal a loo roll from any of the other players!
- The green tick means you are good to go, you can now try and steal a loo roll from Og.

You first have to press down on Og's front step to see if he has heard you. If he says anything (like "What's going on out there!" or "Is that someone after my loo rolls?!") this means he has heard you and your turn is over.

If Og farts or grunts then this means he hasn't heard you and you can steal a loo roll. Be careful though as you need a steady hand!

If Og does a giant trump, his bog will explode and you have to put two of your toilet rolls back. Play resumes once his bog has been put upright again!

What Did We Think?

If you're offended by ogres and bodily functions then this might not be the game for you but kids will love it! Elliot was a little scared the first time Og's bog exploded though so bear this in mind if your little ones are a bit nervy. Although once he saw Og on the bog he found it hilarious and the scare was forgotten.

The rules are very straight forward and the games don't last too long. Og on the Bog is a bit different and is bound to appeal to all ages!

RRP - £22.99
