My Week in Pictures - 14th April 2017

It's been ages since I've done one of these weekly round ups but this year is flying by, and I want to be able to look back and remember what we've got up to!

Top Row:
- Poor little Erin caught chicken pox last week which was no surprise seeing as Elliot had it previously and it seems to be doing the rounds at his pre-school. Despite the spots, she was still so happy!
- Whilst Erin and I were at home in pox quarantine, Elliot was at a birthday party at his new favourite place Ramp Rats. It's an indoor skate park specifically for kids and he loves it! He's now nagging us for a skateboard....yikes!
- I had a good old clear out of Elliot's winter clothes this week and intended to put them all away in this big bag...Elliot had other ideas!!

Middle Row:
- On the Sunday my parents did an egg hunt in the garden for Elliot which he loved. It wasn't Easter weekend but it was the only day that everyone in the family was free to have lunch together so it was great spending some time together. The weather was gorgeous too and their lovely garden was the perfect place for an egg hunt!
- We have been loving the warm Spring weather and Elliot has been outside lots. His Nanny bought him this Imaginext toy at a baby sale (£2, what a bargain) and he asked me to bring it outside for him to play with.

Bottom Row:
- Elliot loves driving past this amazing dinosaur sculpture in Poole and we actually stopped to take a closer look this week. The dinosaur now has eggs underneath her and Elliot was so excited!
- Erin has changed so much since she was born but it amazes me how much she looks like Elliot. There's no doubting that they are siblings!
- We had a Mummy and Elliot day today and went to see Justin Fletcher in Southampton. It was lovely to spend some one on one time with him and he loved the show!

Hope you've all had a good week x

My Week in Pictures - 10th April 2016

Well the Easter holidays seem to have gone on forever but Elliot still isn't back to pre-school til Friday, eek!

Here's a little peek into what we got up to this past week...

Top Row:
- Last Sunday I had the absolute pleasure of singing with G4 with the choir I belong to. It was the highlight of my year so far and the G4 boys were so lovely!
- The boys had a day out by themselves last weekend and went to Marwell Zoo. They had a great time but Elliot was soooo tired. He was tired before he'd even got there as he'd been up since 6am and then him and my husband walked 8 miles round the park!
- The Marwell Zoo trip really took it out of Elliot and he's been tired all week, we've had lots of car naps!

Middle Row:
- The weather has been abit iffy this week but Tuesday morning was absolutely lovely and we managed to have a picnic outside. It was so warm but when we drove home 10 miles down the road it was torrential rain!
- Elliot loves animals but he's got a particular soft spot for my parent's cat Davey. Davey is such a big softy and loves Elliot!

Bottom Row:
- We took a little trip to Toys R Us yesterday and bought Elliot his first bike. We weren't sure whether to go for a balance bike or a proper little bike with pedals but he tried out both and we decided on the pedal bike in the end. He's been practicing out on our road but needs to learn to pedal and look up at the same time!
- Thanks to a competition on the DorsetMums Facebook page, we had some free tickets for the Royal Signals Museum in Blandford, Dorset. I thought it might be a bit boring but actually, lots of the displays were really interesting and it was a really good visit. I'll be doing a proper review on this later on this week :)
- We decided to visit one of our favourite National Trust properties, Kingston Lacy, today. We had a free afternoon so decided to make the most of the dry weather - and luckily for Elliot they were still running Easter hunts! Everytime I visit I get a photo of Elliot in front of the house and I love to look back and compare to see how much he has grown. I love his face in this one!

We have a really busy week coming up and I'm keen to make the most of the time Elliot isn't at pre-school! Hope you've all had a lovely weekend x

My Week in Pictures - 11th March 2016

It feels like Spring has finally sprung here in Dorset and we've had some beautiful sunny days this week...although these were followed by some really grotty torrential rain days booo!

Here's what we got up to....

Top Row:
- Mother's Day and I thought I'd try and get a nice photo of Elliot and I. No chance, selfie mode turns Elliot into a gurning monkey so if you can't beat 'em, join 'em ;)
- A spontaneous visit to one of our favourite National Trust properties, Kingston Lacy and it was so warm in the sunshine. It was also pretty deserted being a weekday so we pretty much had the place to ourselves!
- Kingston Lacy was in full bloom with all the daffodils out

Middle Row:
- I smashed my next target at Slimming World on Monday, have lost 26.5lbs in 8 weeks so far! Have a long way to go but need to stay motivated and keep going :)
- Elliot's been getting up really early for the past few weeks but usually plays in his bedroom while we snooze (I can't face a 6am start!). The other day he came in with my boots in his hands, he tapped me on the head and said "I'm playing Andy's Dinosaur Adventures!". Not sure the hi-vis jacket is quite what Andy wears though!

Bottom Row:
- Wednesday was so rainy and we had a couple of hours to kill before Elliot's swimming class so we went to soft play. We were there so early that we had the place to ourselves!
- Elliot just loves dressing up, here he is doing his best pirate impression
- Elliot said he was cleaning the dinosaurs teeth here!

Hope you've all had a great week xx

My Week in Pictures - 14th February 2016

Wow well I can't believe it's the weekend already! Here's what we got up to this week:

Top Row:
- We spent a chilly afternoon at Kingston Lacy which is one of our favourite National Trust properties. My friend had her dogs and we followed the Woodland Trail - Elliot loved running along with the lead! It was a bit of a muddy walk so it was a good job we had our wellies on!
- I've been following the Slimming World diet for the past 4 weeks and on Monday I lost another 4lbs taking me to a 16.5lb total, and my 1 stone certificate! Feeling lots healthier so just need to stick with it...lots more stones to go:-/
- Last Saturday we had planned to go out for the day but the weather was absolutely terrible and put a stop to any outside plans we had. Instead we took Elliot bowling - he loved it and he beat me. Beaten by a 3 year old - really!!

Middle:
- Teatime tantrums - fun! Elliot woke up from a rare nap and was in such a grump. He cried because he had dirty hands....he cried because I made him wash his hands...he then cried because he forgot to smell the soap!!! What a thing to have a wobbly over!
- I've become a bit addicted to making Slimming World pancakes, they taste so good. The only trouble is they take me so long, think I need to buy another frying pan so I can double up!

Bottom:
- Don't get too many pics of me and Elliot together because I'm usually behind the camera but he actually managed to sit still for a few seconds to let me take this one. His face makes me laugh, he was in a funny mood and bouncing around all over the place!
- Thursday saw us back at our favourite place, Farmer Palmers. We have an annual pass and go practically every week, there's so much to do there. This photo was taken just before closing time and we had the place to ourselves!
- Elliot had a disco at pre-school on Friday so thought I'd better make sure he looked smart! He looks so grown up with his hair spiked up like this :)

My Week in Pictures - 11th December 2015

December has been a whirlwind of activity so far and I can't believe Christmas is just two weeks away....I haven't even finished writing my cards yet!

The festive season is in full swing and we've been really busy - today was a full day at home though which was lovely and much needed. Sometimes you just need a day at home in your pjs watching films! Here's what else we've been up to...and I realise that most of these snaps include food, oops!

Top Row:
- I belong to a local choir called Just Sing and we had a Christmas gig at a cafe just a few minutes from my house. Elliot insisted on wearing the Elf costume and he loved meeting Father Christmas after our performance!
- My husband is a small business owner (The Laptop Fixers) and last Friday we took our staff out for a Christmas meal. My sister in law works for us too and we had a giggle sitting next to each other!
- Another day, another Elf outing....Elliot really loves this costume! Bet you've never seen an Elf eat a hotdog this big!

Middle Row:
- Is it just boys that jump on things ALL THE TIME?! I caught Elliot bouncing on our bed in his pants...as you do!
- We had a birthday party last weekend and the kids got to decorate cupcakes. I just managed to snap this photo before the icing was demolished!

Bottom Row:
- This is what happens when you eat a penguin bar and it melts...notice how he's stuffed the whole thing in his gob though!
- Elliot was sent a lovely Christmas stocking stuffed full of Kiddylicious goodies from their PR lady Emma, what a nice touch :)
- As we were home all day today we made some rice crispie cakes but as you can probably imagine, quite a lot of the rice crispies and chocolate never made it into the cake cases!!

My Week in Pictures - 21st November 2015

Well after a crazy couple of weeks of birthdays and moving house again (that's a tale for another day), things are finally settling down and getting back to normal.

Here's what we've been getting up to this week:

Top Row:
- I've been nagging my husband for months about getting a bookcase for Elliot's room and we finally got one, woo! It was only a cheap one from Argos but it has made such a difference in his room. He has so many lovely books and it's nice to be able to display them properly now. Whether this will stay this tidy is another matter!!
- Birthday party season has started for Elliot and last Sunday he had a great time at his little mate Finleys' party. They look so cute here with their faces painted!
- Pre-school really took it out of Elliot last Monday, he went all quiet as I was making lunch and I realised he'd dozed off! He never ever does this!

Middle Row:
- We have a Costa just a few minutes walk from our house so we often pop in. Elliot is a big fan of the chocolate babychino's - although after he'd slurped this one, his face was covered in chocolate!!
- Having some quiet time on the iPad whilst I got ready!

Bottom Row:
- He loves bathtime! The family bathroom in our new house has a posh shower with a handy glass door so it means he can splash about in the bath and I don't get wet...providing he keeps it at the right end!
- We braved the cold today and had a quick walk along the cliffs by Bournemouth Beach. It was absolutely freezing but I wanted to stop at this bench which is in memory of a good friend of mine who passed away a few years ago. I might pick a warmer day to visit next time ;)
- We were invited along to an opening of a new baby clothing shop in Bournemouth today, Baby Moos. I will be writing about this very soon!

Have you been up to anything exciting this week?

My Week in Pictures - 16th October 2015

This week has been a bit of a quiet one. I think the holiday is still catching up with us because everyone has a bit tired and a bit run down. The weather has been a lot cooler than what we had in Florida so we've had a few afternoons where we've snuggled under a blanket and watched a film or two. Current faves this week include Hocus Pocus and Hotel Transylvania.....which we've watched more than once!

Top Row:
- It was my husband's birthday on Saturday so we got him a cake. Which I hid in a cupboard and told Elliot it was a surprise for Daddy. Only Elliot couldn't wait to tell him! "Daddy we've got you a monkey cake surprise!!!". Here they are blowing out the candles...he was slightly older than 2 years old but thats all I could find in the cupboard!
- My husband went out with his friends to a beer festival on his birthday so Elliot and I had a lovely afternoon together. We stopped at a nice little farm shop and cafe for a milkshake and ice-cream before having a quick play in the play area
- Boys and their toys!

Middle Row:
- Elliot is a big fan of Room on the Broom and we were really excited to spot these pyjamas in Sainsburys. I think they might be girls ones as the shoulders look a bit puffy and feminine but who cares, purple is great!
- Spotted this beautiful sunrise in the week and just had to take a photo...

Bottom Row:
- Elliot is such a water baby and most bath times end up with him floating in the water like this!!
- Our cat Sookie puts up with a lot of prodding and poking from Elliot and I'm amazed she managed to sit still long enough for me to take a photo here! He loves cuddling her but she quite often doesn't want to be cuddled!
- Poorly Elliot with his snotty nose and spotty chin, he wanted to watch Andy's Dinosaur Adventures but couldn't watch it without wearing his hat, backpack and waistcoat..."I'm Andy Mummy!"

My Week in Pictures 13/09/15

This week has been a busy one for us and the days have just flown by. Autumn is creeping in but we've had some boiling hot days this week so we've actually been able to get out and make the most of the sunshine!

Here's what we got up to...

Top Row:
- We spent the day at the Dorset County Show (blog post coming soon!) and I just love this pic of Elliot and his Daddy looking all smily in the sunshine!
- In the last few weeks I've noticed Elliot's scribbles have started to look like actual people, I love it how the legs and arms all come out of the head!
- Big day for Elliot, first session at pre-school. He was excited, I was emotional!

Middle Row:
- It was a long walk home from pre-school so we had a lazy afternoon watching films in our pyjamas. Here's Elliot watching the Gruffalo's child, whilst sat in his Gruffalo dressing gown
- Tuesday was boiling so we went to our local park where they have a great paddling pool. Elliot couldn't wait to get in but it was SO cold, my ankles felt numb after a little paddle!

Bottom Row:
- Before hitting the park we met up with some friends at one of the local libraries. This library has had a refurbishment in the last few years and it's amazing now, so many lovely books and puzzles. There's even a cafe which sells cake - books and cake, whats not to love!
- Whilst Elliot was at his 2nd pre-school session I went to a cafe and had some breakfast. Felt very odd to be sat on my own without somebody wanting to share my sausage sandwich or slurp my milkshake! When you become a parent you get so used to never having anytime to yourself so it's a bit weird when you actually have time to relax!!
- I left the boys at home on Friday night and met up with some old friends for some drinks. We all met when we worked at Barclays in the mid 00's. We don't catch up as often as we'd like because everyone is so busy and doing different things but it's so much fun when we do manage to go out! In the olden days we used to hit the town most Friday nights afterwork and be out til the early hours drinking and dancing. Bit different these days, there were far less empty glasses on the table and I was tucked up in bed by Midnight ;)

My Week in Pictures

We haven't had the busiest of weeks but we've been spending lots of time at home trying to get things sorted after our move. There are still boxes to unpack but I finally finished hanging our clothes up today - that was a thrilling job!!

So here's our week in pictures..

Top Row
- On Monday we finally got Elliot's playroom sorted and whilst he had his nap I managed to get all his toys in there and it was immaculate. Fast forward 10 minutes after he woke up and it's like this :)
- Just a snap of our new house, I cannot tell you how much I love having more room!
- Last night we let Elliot stay up late and we had our first bbq in the new pad. It was lovely sitting outside listening to the swallows fly above our heads. My husband hid a kinder egg in Elliot's playhouse, hence his excited face!

Middle Row
- Last Sunday was a scorcher of a day and we went along to the Great Dorset Chilli Festival - my husband bought Elliot a giant sombrero and Elliot was making us laugh by doing funny dances!
- My choir performed at a company's Summer party on Friday night in the New Forest and we saw a beautiful sunset on the way home

Bottom Row
- We don't normally buy ice-cream (I like it too much!!) but we picked this up as a little treat on Saturday night. OMG, possibly the nicest ice cream I have ever tasted!!!
- I tried to take a nice selfie of me and Elliot but the dinosaur got in the way!
- This pic made me laugh, fast asleep in the car but still holding his Longleat book! He's obsessed with Longleat Safari Park  and loves looking at the map in the book, he's forever asking when we're going back

So that's our week, mostly spent at home. Hoping to get out and about a bit more now we're getting settled in our new place!

My Week in Pictures

I've been really bad with the blogging this week and hardly had time to reply to tweets let alone write a blog post but I thought I'd do a quick roundup of our week in pictures so you can see what we've been up to :)

Top Row

- Whilst my parents were away on holiday, we took advantage of their lovely garden and had some of Elliot's little friends over to play. The toddlers spent the whole morning in and out of the paddling pool having the best time! I love this pic of Elliot and two of his mates - three little blondies in a row!
- Again in my parents garden, Elliot has been having lots of fun in the paddling pool. The slide is a permanent fixture in the pool now!
- We went along to a family fun day at a local park and Elliot was very excited to see a miniature steam train, he couldn't wait to have a ride!

Middle Row

- More water fun! We visited our favourite country park where there is a lovely walled garden featuring a brilliant water fountain for the kids to play in. Elliot decided to fill his hat with water, and then put it on his head. Crazy boy!
- This was taken a few hours after the water fountains, Elliot was soooo ready for a nap by this point and he wasn't being very cooperative in posing! The look on his face says it all ;)

Bottom Row

- As a blogger I receive some lovely items to review and this box of fun arrived last week. I'll be doing a proper review on Magformers  next week so look out for that!
- Here's Elliot after his Little Kickers football class waiting for the carnival to go past!
- My choir Just Sing sang at a local school fete today. Elliot came along to watch us and he bumped into Anna and Elsa. We had to take a photo but the look on his face is so funny!!

I really enjoy these type of weekly roundups, it's lovely to look back on all the photos I've taken!
